Traces of an Imaginary Affair, 2006
Mixed Media, Object & C-Prints

Bjorn Franke designed this project after hearing stories of people in society creating fake evidence to gain attention to themselves. Traces of an Imaginary Affair is a box of nine tools designed to make marks on the body to create the intention of having an imaginary affair.

  1. Some of the things that people come up with…! Society can get crazy. . It makes you think about all of the ‘ideas marketing’ that is out there. Bjorn Franke is very brave, and I’m sure he would be a very interesting guy to have a coffee with.

  2. What a strange concept – tools that self harm to appear as if you’re having an affair. Don’t people usually try to cover up the evidence?

I wonder how many of these would see. Very interesting to know!
